Wichita man sentenced to seven years in prison for three robberies

A Wichita man will spend nearly seven years in federal prison for robbing three businesses.

39-year-old Willie Smith admitted to robbing the QuikTrip store on S. Seneca back in 2018. In that case, he showed the clerk what appeared to be a revolver and demanded money. When investigators searched his apartment, they found a black BB gun they believe Smith used in that robbery, along with two others.

Smith pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in that case.

At sentencing, the court also took into account as relevant conduct two other robberies Smith committed in 2018.

Smith robbed the Express Mart on S. Market and Pete's Liquor on W. Harry. In each of those cases, he used what appeared to be a revolver.
