Wichita mother sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for death of two-year-old
A Wichita mother was sentenced Friday for her role in the death of her two-year-old son.
On Friday, a Sedgwick County judge sentenced Elizabeth Woolheater to 233 months or nearly 20 years in the death of Tony Bunn.
Officers were called to a home last May after a report of a child not breathing in the 800 block of north Woodrow. When they arrived on scene, the child's mother, boyfriend and the boyfriend's mother were at the home. The child was not breathing, and later died from his injuries.
According to an affidavit, Tony died from extensive injuries that included broken bones, bruising, and brain swelling. He was undernourished and had extensive trauma to the head and face.
Her boyfriend, Lucas Diel, was sentenced to 586 months in prison in the boy's death.
