WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Five people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after an officer-involved crash in southeast Wichita.
The crash happened around 12:15 p.m. near George Washington Blvd and east Harry.
Police say the officer was traveling north on George Washington Blvd. in a marked WPD Chevrolet Tahoe when it was struck on the driver’s side by a white Chrysler Town and Country that was traveling east on E. Harry. They say the van ran a stoplight.
The officer was taken to the hospital to a medical facility for a minor injury and soon after released.
The five people in the van included ages 39 and 39 and three females ages 31, 32 and 58.
They were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators say the driver may be cited for running the red light.
