Man shot and killed on E. Wilma identified
UPDATE: Wichita police have identified a man killed in an overnight shooting as 26-year-old Rolando Holt.
According to police, Holt was visiting people at a home in the 2600 block of E. Wilma throughout the evening. At one point, some men visited the home and he was shot and killed.
Police do not have a description of the shooters. They took off on foot after the shooting.
Holt was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wichita Police Department says one person is dead, and another is hurt after a shooting in south-central Wichita on Sunday night.
Officer Paul Cruz says officers received the call around 8:00 p.m of a shooting in the 2600 block of East Wilma.
When police arrived on scene they found two individuals with gunshot wounds.
"One of the two victims was deceased and the other was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries," says Cruz.
Eyewitness News spoke with a man who says he heard gunshots in the Wilma area.
"Unfortunately this happened before. I lived here ten years but there's a criminal element here and in my opinion, the majority is drugs and it's just the way it is around here," says Robert Moore.
