Wichita run helps honor those lost their lives on 9/11

Wichita and other units run the first lap of the Team Red White & Blue 9/11 Commemorative Flag Run.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Members of the military showed up at Sedgwick County Park early Tuesday morning to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

It was all a part of the 2019 Team Red White and Blue held a 9/11 Commemorative Flag Run.

Because it's the inaugural Navy Week in Wichita, Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore, USS Wichita, and personnel from the USS Wichita and other units ran the first lap.

The group plans to run from sunrise to sunset carrying the American flag.
