Woman accused of shooting at Wichita officers during chase faces 14 counts

WICHITA, Kan. A woman accused of shooting at a Wichita police officer during a chase last week makes her first appearance in Sedgwick County District Court.

TJ McMahan faces 14 counts including aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, criminal discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving without a license and drug-related charges.

McMahan was one of three arrested last week after a chase in southeast Wichita that ended near the Joyland property.

Investigators say officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction. McMahan was driving the vehicle that took off, leading to a chase during which police say she fired two shots at officers.

Setting up a perimeter, officers found McMahan and two other people involved with the chase. Police say they're still looking for a fourth person.
