WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Some well-known faces are set to take the court inside Koch Arena this summer.
Wichita State University and Visit Wichita announced Tuesday morning that the Roundhouse would be one of eight regional sites to host The Tournament, an ESPN-sponsored summer basketball tournament.
Teams are made college alumni and former NBA players.
Former Wichita State players will comprise the AfterShocks. The roster includes Joe Ragland, Malcolm Armstead, Clevin Hannah, Cleanthony Early, Toure' Murry, Shaq Morris, J.T. Durley, Tekele Cotton, Conner Frankamp and Garret Stutz. There are also open spots on the roster just in case one of these guys signs a contract before game time. The team will be led by former Shocker Karon Bradley.
Eight teams will play in the regional round from July 25 to the 28 at Charles Koch Arena. Winners from each region will advance to Chicago for the championship game and a $2 million winner-takes-all prize.
Organizers say it's a possibility alumni teams for KU and K-State will also play in Wichita's regional.
