Ben Powers visits Wichita fans before first training camp
Ravens newest offensive lineman Ben Powers returned to his hometown of Wichita after his first NFL mini camp.
The Kapaun Mt. Carmel graduate was selected 123rd overall by the Ravens in the fourth round of the NFL Draft.
The former Oklahoma Sooners guard did not allow a sack in the 2018 season, and he looks to continue that momentum in Baltimore.
Before he can protect Lamar Jackson on Sundays, Powers first has to complete what he knows will be an arduous training camp.
"Oh, training camp is training camp. There's no getting around that! It's the longest month of your life," he said. "You know, prepare you and your body and your mind to get...you know, the season's long, especially coming up, I've never played a 20-game season. You've got preseason games, regular season games, and postseason if you're lucky."
Powers also left behind some advice for future Sooner Marcus Hicks and other Catchitkansas stars: keep your nose down, don't make a lot of noise, and just do what you do.
