College scouts search through Wichita talent
More than 240 Wichita-area athletes signed to play football at local colleges this year, so it's no surprise local colleges come back to Wichita each year to find the best talent.
Wichita Heights hosted a recruiting fair for all colleges below Division I FBS classification.
That includes DII Washburn University, which recruited newly signed 49er Zach Franklin at the same fair.
Offensive Coordinator Jeff Schwin said it was a vital step in the recruiting process.
"It was about five years ago, I came down to the recruiting fair as well as Wichita Northwest," he said. "So being able to come to one of these events and visit with all of these coaches about their prospects is a great opportunity."
