FC Wichita defeated Shreveport 3-0 Wednesday night and with the win, advances to play Dutch Lions FC in the semifinals of the South Central Conference tournament. That game will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The defensive side of the field has been stifling opponents recently. FC Wichita enters its semifinal matchup with the Lions following three consecutive shutouts.

Speaking of the defenders, the last line of defense might just be its most powerful dark horse on offense.

Goalkeeper Mark Weir grabbed a corner kick out of the sky briefly into stoppage time, and noticing Shreveport's keeper was out, booted a beautiful, crowd-stunning, 115-yard goal to add an insurance run on Wednesday's 3-0 win.

The defenders are led by veteran Kevin Ten Eyck, whose been looking to rally the troops into these playoffs.

With impressive wins beginning to stack up late in the season, it seems the team's highlights might be its impenetrable team chemistry. FC Wichita is gelling at the right time, and as any sports fan knows, that's arguably the most important figure in a deep playoff run.
