ARLINGTON, Texas From being one of the top recruits in the state, to signing with the Wildcats only to redshirt and switch positions— the journey for Denzel Goolsby has been one he says he is grateful for. With his Senior season on the way his teammates say, the Bishop Carroll Grad has left his mark in Manhattan.
"There is something different about him, the way he walks, the way he talks,” said Quarterback Skylar Thompson. “He just does things the right way. He is going to walk into a room and get your attention.
"A great football player and a phenomenal person,” explained Wide Receiver Dalton Schoen. “He is the kind of guy that truly cares about each and every one of his teammates. He is the kind of guy you can go and have a super deep conversation with. I know a lot of things about Denzel that he has been through in his past.”
Goolsby likes to look back on his past, and think about the journey to this point… his final season in Manhattan.
"I would tell the kid from Bishop Carroll back in 2015 coming out of high school would be willing to change paths,” smiled Goolsby. “And for me to be the type of person to get to where I am at I have had to course correct.”
