WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Jackie Joyner Kersee visited the Lynette Woodard Recreational Center Saturday afternoon to speak to young athletes about following one's dream.
Joyner-kersee was already scheduled to be in Wichita to lead a women's leadership conference on the same day.
The six-time Olympic medalist is aware of the rich history of track and field in Kansas, and offered her own advice to up-and-coming athletes.
"Be committed to working hard and never give up on yourself and always try to find a way to get it done," she said. "Regardless of how great people say you are, you have to always be willing to work hard."
