Kennedy Brown makes history, earning McDonald's All-America roster spot

DERBY, Kan. (KWCH) -- Derby senior center Kennedy Brown made history Thursday night, when she was named to the final roster of the McDonald's All-America game.

Brown is the first female player from any KSHSAA-sanctioned school to be named to this prestigious roster. Her Derby teammate Tor'e Alford was also a nominee.

The Oregon State commit is the 19th-ranked player in the nation, according to ESPN. She was a five-star recruit when she signed with the Beavers.

Brown currently averages 18.5 points per game, 10.8 rebounds per game, and 3.5 blocks.

The Derby Panthers are the 6A defending State Champions.
