Markis McDuffie missed Wichita State's first eleven games thanks to a foot injury. He made his much anticipated debut Friday night against FGCU.
"I felt overwhelmed," said McDuffie. "It's great to be back on the court, for real, with my guys, man. I've been missing it so much. It's a great feeling."
He played just nine minutes while scoring three points - all from the free throw line.
"It's just great to see him smile," said Head Coach Gregg Marshall. "Other than the one crazy shot that he took he really played okay."
After the game, Marshall told McDuffie he needs to be in the gym during Christmas break in order to build his endurance. McDuffie admitted his lack wind was the biggest struggle in his debut. He also noted his legs got tired since he has not been able to train like normal.
The Shockers will be back in action Dec. 30 on the road against UConn.
