MANHATTAN, Kan. (KWCH) -- Kansas State Rivals is reporting sophomore quarterback Alex Delton will start this Saturday for the Wildcats, with Jesse Ertz missing 4-6 weeks with a knee injury.
Bill Snyder made no mention of this switch during his weekly press conference earlier Tuesday.
"Jesse (Ertz) is number one, Alex (Delton) is number two," he said. "Skylar is doing well – he is getting repetitions in practice. Not too many third-string guys get a lot of reps in practice, but he gets a fair share of them.”
Snyder did say he liked what he saw from Delton during his time on the field Saturday.
The sophomore quarterback from Hays, Kansas rushed for two touchdowns and 79 yards on 12 carries. He also threw for 30 yards.
"I thought he made some good decisions about where to run the ball when he ran it. I thought he made some good decisions about where to throw it when he threw it," he said. "I thought in regards of getting in and out of the right plays, I thought he made good decisions with two exceptions. But two out of how many is a, would probably still give him a pretty good score from that standpoint."
