The Kansas City Chiefs Tuesday made another trade announcement, moving linebacker Dee Ford to San Francisco. Kansas City station KCTV-5 reports from Sports Illustrated's Albert Beer that the deal is contingent upon Ford and the 49ers reaching a deal for a new contract. Assuming the deal goes through, Kansas City would get a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, KCTV reports.
Last season, Ford, in his fifth pro season, finished with 42 tackles and 13 sacks. The Chiefs picked Ford No. 23 in the 2014 NFL draft.
The move is the latest in a busy off-season for the Chiefs. Just within the past week, the team announced it's releasing veteran linebacker Justin Houston and planning to sign Houston safety Tyrann Mathieu.
