WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Rod Brown, a redshirt freshman forward at Wichita State, announced his plans to transfer from the Shockers program on his Twitter account Thursday evening.
The news comes a day after junior guard Ricky Torres also announced his intent to leave Wichita State.
Brown, a Memphis, Tennessee native, came to Wichita State before the 2017-18 season when he was redshirted by the program due to a heavy numbers at the forward position.
During his freshman year, Brown played just 7 minutes per game, averaging 1.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per contest. He scored a career best 6 points in 11 minutes in the Shockers loss to Houston in early January, and had a career best game in their first round AAC tournament game with East Carolina. Against the Pirates, Brown grabbed nine rebounds, playing a season high 18 minutes.
The pair of transfers leaves Wichita State with two available scholarships to fill ahead of next season.
