GREENVILLE, N.C. Wichita State extends the winning streak to 3 games in Greenville, beating East Carolina 65-49 Wednesday night. The win moves WSU to 11-11 on the season, and 4-6 in AAC play. It is the first true road win for the Shockers this year.
Defense and rebounding travelled. WSU out-rebounded ECU by 19, and held the Pirates to just 35% shooting.
Senior Guard Samajae Haynes-Jones was stellar. THe East grad scored 18 points on 7-9 shooting, to go along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 0 turnovers.
Sophomore Center Asbjorn Midtgaard played a crucial 19 minutes. The big man scored 6 points, and 6 of his 11 rebounds came on the offensive end.
Wichita State returns home Saturday night to take on Tulane at Charles Koch Arena.
