If you wear contacts, there's a good chance you've been there before. It falls out of your eye and you're stuck in that awkward spot where you don't know what to do. Therefore, saliva.
That's the spot Scott City native and former Wichita State Shocker Ron Baker fell in Monday night's preseason game with the Wizards.
Twitter, while somewhat understanding, had fun with the viral clip.
Ron Baker really just tried to use saliva to put his contact lens back in pic.twitter.com/cMvpA0LnYU— Sherwob Holmes (@World_Wide_Wob) October 2, 2018
willing to get pink eye for the team in a preseason game that's why you pay Ron Baker the big bucks!— Sherwob Holmes (@World_Wide_Wob) October 2, 2018

Think about all the germs running through Ron Baker’s eyes right now. pic.twitter.com/kkrXw8Jz4L— Jeff Eisenband (at #esportsbizsummit) (@JeffEisenband) October 2, 2018
Talked to Ron Baker about this after the game and said that when he played for his dad they had the same prescription so when Ron lost his contact, yeah, it's what you imagine. https://t.co/tTqINT23WO— Steve Popper (@StevePopper) October 2, 2018
Former teammate at WSU Fred VanVleet got in on the fun too.
Baker said it best, gotta do what you gotta do!
And don't worry, he's got fresh lenses ready to go.
The Knicks, by the way, went on to win the game 124-121 in overtime. Baker drained two free throws in the OT period after the contact lens snafu, so turning to his own spit paid off in the end.
