Senior with spina bifida scores touchdown in wheelchair
Zach Jellison is a four-year senior on the South Central High School football team, but before week three, he had never scored a touchdown.
Friday night, his teammates pushed his wheelchair across the goal line for a one-yard touchdown in the 53-6 win over Ingalls.
Jellison was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair for mobility.
"It was set up just before the game," said head coach Billy Nichols. "I believe all four-year players should get a chance to score a touch down. Late in the 2nd quarter, we had first and goal from the one and that was Zach's chance!"
Jellison is also a member of the South Central boys basketball team, and a Special Olympics Gold Medalist.
