Let's be clear - Landry Shamet is going to be just fine. However, he's currently in the worst shooting slump of his collegiate career.
In his last three games he has missed 17-of-18 three pointers and has made just 5-of-27 shots from the field.
But in the three games prior to his slump he was fantastic - shooting 52 percent from the floor and making half his shots from behind the arc.
"I've met with him privately and encouraged him, said Gregg Marshall. "In timeouts I've told him if he ever doesn't take a wide open shot that I am going to bring him out. Just keep shooting."
Needless to say, Marshall and the team have not lost faith in their star guard.
"The whole was was just to let him know that we think he's a heck of a player and a great shooter and keep shooting and -- by God -- make one. Let's get this streak over with. Let's go back to the 50-percent guy."
The Shockers will be at Temple Thursday night.
