WICHITA, Kan. Eyewitness Sports anchor Will Kunkel reports from Wichita State University that Shocker standout Markis McDuffie will miss part of the 2017-2018 basketball season with a stress fracture in his foot.
McDuffie says the foot has been bothering him for awhile. He says an X-ray didn't reveal a problem, but an MRA showed a fracture.
McDuffie says he learned the extent of his injury Friday. The junior forward is expected to miss the first few weeks of the season with an anticipated return in mid-December.
Meanwhile, WSU sophomore point guard Landry Shamet -- also recovering from a stress fracture in his foot -- is expected to be ready to go for the Shockers in mid-November.
