Shockers to host exhibition against Catawba College

WICHITA, Kan. (RELEASE) Wichita State will play host to NCAA Division II Catawba College in an exhibition Tuesday at Charles Koch Arena.

The exhibition starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at 316-978-FANS or goshockers.com/MBBTickets.

The game will air statewide on Yurview Kansas, available to Cox subscribers on HD 2022 and to fans in all 50 states at YurView.com/Kansas.

Catawba College (located in Salisbury, N.C.) plays in one of Division II’s strongest conferences, the South Atlantic. A year ago, it produced three NCAA Tournament teams, including national semifinalist, Queens.

This is the Shockers’ lone public exhibition this year. The team played a closed-door scrimmage with Oklahoma State on Sunday, Oct. 21.

The Shockers have won 24-consecutive preseason exhibitions, dating back to the 2001. They’re 13-0 in the Marshall Era.

WSU opens the regular season next Tuesday, Nov. 6 against Louisiana Tech.

When it comes to getting tickets to see the Shockers, WSU Athletic Director for New Revenue says it's important to know where those tickets come from so you don't fall for a scam.

"We have had a few fake tickets over the years," AD for new revenue Russ Wilkins says. Most the of time we are willing to accommodate them and willing to sell general admission tickets to try to not add insult to injury and get them into the games."

Fans going to Tuesday night's exhibition game will want to give themselves extra time because of metal detectors at the entrances. Fans should also remember that bags must meet a certain size requirement to get inside the arena.
