Softball player's amazing catch in Dodge City lands on 'SportsCenter Top 10'

DODGE CITY, Kan. (KWCH) Call it the catch of the year!

(Avila University)

And it happened at the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round in Dodge City, Kan.

The Avila University Eagles were tied 3-3 with University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers when senior Kayla Robinson made a play that earned her the No. 2 spot on "ESPN SportCenter Top 10 Plays of the Night."

Video shows USAO's Kristen Prieto hit what appears to almost be a home run. That is, until, Robinson tracks the ball and takes down the outfield fence, fall to the ground and pop back up with the catch!

The Eagles didn't walk away with the win, falling to the Drovers, 6-3. But they'll have another chance at the title taking on Bellvue University at 1:30 p.m. back in Dodge City.
