WICHITA, Kan. (WSU) – Wichita State used three home runs to beat Nebraska 6-3 and win the three-game series.
Greyson Jenista went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run, while Dayton Dugas, Noah Croft and Travis Young each had two hits.
Starter Liam Eddy went six innings and gave up one run on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts.
The Bash Brothers broke out in the third inning for the Shockers. Gunnar Troutwine led off the inning with a single and moved to third on a double by Jordan Boyer. With one out, Greyson Jenista homered to right field to put the Shockers up 3-0. Alec Bohm followed with a bomb to left-center to push the lead to 4-0. Dayton Dugas then singled and stole second and Mason O'Brien drove him in with a single to left-center for a 5-0 lead.
The Huskers got on the board in the fourth. Mojo Hagge led off with a triple and scored on a ground out from Scott Schreiber to cut the lead to 5-1.
The Shockers got the run back in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run from Luke Ritter to make the score 6-1.
The Huskers got a two-run home run from Jeff Athey in the ninth for the final 6-3 score.
The Shockers and Huskers wrap up the series on Sun., March 4 at 2 p.m.
