Gingerbread and sugar cookies are pretty much a staple of the holiday season, so Connie is going to give us the basics on making these delicious decorated delights.
Check out these simple recipes below!
3/4 c butter softened
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp Vanilla
2 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Creme butter & sugar, mix in the eggs & vanilla
Add the dry ingredients and mix well
Chill for 1 1/2 hours.
Roll out on floured board to desired thickness and cut into shapes.
Place on sheet with parchment paper and bake at 400 for 8 to 10 min.

1/4 c veg. shortening
1/2 c packed brown sugar
2/3 c molasses
1 large egg
3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
Creme butter, shortening and sugar.
Add molasses and egg and mix well.
Add the dry ingredients.
Mix well and form into 2 discs.
Wrap in Saran Wrap and chill for 3 hours.
Roll on floured surface and cut into shapes lay on cookie sheet on parchment paper and bake at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes
