Man’s body found in Wichita neighborhood pond, no signs of foul play

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Police have identified a body found Sunday morning in a pond near 21st and Webb Road as Richard Kane.

Early Sunday, officers responded to a report of a person in a pond near the intersection of E. 19th and N. Frederick in east Wichita.

The Wichita Fire Department arrived on the scene and discovered the man, in his mid-30s, was dead. Police said there are no signs of trauma or indications of foul play.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding why the man was at the pond. Kane’s cause of death has not been released.
