Wichita police release new information on two New Year's Day homicides.
At least one man has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail in relation to the stabbing death 30-year-old Bradley Wellbrock.
Police say he and a friend were walking on Wildwood when they saw an argument between a man and a woman. They got involved and tried to break up the incident when the man who was fighting with the woman started fighting with them.
Police say the man called for others to help. Around nine others showed up and a large fight broke out.
Wellbrock was stabbed during the fight and later died.
Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the death.
In the other homicide case on south Madison early Sunday morning, Wichita police were looking for a documented gang member in the shooting death of a 23-year-old Wichita man. That suspect, turned himself in around noon Tuesday.
Police say a New Year's Eve party started with an argument and a fist fight between guys. The man who lost called his friends to come help. Three people showed up and parked at a distance. They approached the house, but turned around when they realized they were outnumbered.
Police say, as they were leaving, the people in the house came after them and fired shots at them. The victim was struck and killed.
