Memorial service held for 1 of 2 Kansas women killed in Oklahoma ambush
HUGOTON, Kan. (KWCH) - Family, friends and community members gathered at Hugoton First Christian Church on Tuesday to remember Jilian Kelley.
Kelley, a court-approved supervisor, was killed last month while escorting Veronica Butler down to Oklahoma to pick up Butler’s children for a birthday party. The two women never showed, and their bodies were found days later in Oklahoma.
“As the undesirable outcome was announced that Jillian’s life has been taken, we are asking for help by making any donation to lessen the financial burden brought forth on the Kelley family,” reads a statement on a GoFundMe page set up for her family.
Butler’s service will be held Friday, May 3, at Hugoton’s Assembly of God Church.
