TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Being able to find support is a big component of mental health and wellness.

The support comes not just from the people around us, but also the policies enacted by lawmakers.

Families, providers, nonprofits and more will come together at the Kansas Statehouse next month to advocate for mental and behavioral health policies. Monica Kurz with Healthsource Integrated Solutions is part of the Kansas Mental Health Coalition. She visited Eye on NE Kansas to look ahead to Mental Health Advocacy Day.

Mental Health Advocacy Day is Monday, March 9 at the Kansas Statehouse. To prepare, NAMI Kansas is hosting a Smarts Advocacy Training Session from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at the Topeka & Shawnee Co. Public Library. Register for the session and learn more about it at NAMIKansas.org.
