Old Town Farm and Art Market returns to downtown Wichita
The arrival of spring brings the popular market back to Old Town
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Old Town Farm and Art Market returns Saturday for its annual run that carries on weekly for most of the year.
Each weekend, the market takes place in Old Town between 1st and Douglas streets and features more than 100 local vendors and artists from Wichita and across Kansas. Vendors sell an array of products including farm-fresh meat, fresh produce, baked goods, pet treats, art and home goods.
The market provides an opportunity for small business vendors to make money and gain recognition.
Barbara Blumenshine, who sells a wide variety of jams and jellies through her business, Belle & Buddy’s Kitchen, said this is an important time of year for her business.
“Having the big farm and art market like that, that’s where everybody comes to buy their produce, their jams, everything like that. So, that’s always our best time, is to be there on Saturday morning,” Blumenshine said.
The Old Town Farm and Art Market season kicks off Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The weekly market operates through most of the year, pausing in winter and kickstarting in spring. Saturday’s opening will feature live music to accompany the vendors.
