Woman arrested in Sunday homicide, victim identified
Wichita police say a nine-year-old boy called 911 to report that his grandmother was being attacked. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 63-year-old woman decapitated.
Police say the woman, Micki Davis, and her grandson had gone to a home near Rita and Elizabeth to get property, which belonged to her son, but a 35-year-old woman inside started attacking her.
Police say the nine-year-old was able to run away. He grabbed Davis' cell phone from her truck and called the police.
Police say the suspect, identified as Rachael Hilyard, was hiding in the home and was taken into custody at the scene.
The boy was not hurt.
Police say the suspect was an ex-girlfriend of Davis' son.

Police say the woman found dead in a home near Rita and Elizabeth is 63-years-old. They say a woman in her 30's was taken into custody.
Police arrived on scene of the home a little after 1:30 p.m. Sunday after they say a 9-year-old boy called 911 to report a domestic disturbance. In a tweet, Wichita Police Chief Gordon Ramsay says police were interviewing a possible suspect and that this is "not a random incident."
One person is dead and one person is in custody after a reported homicide in south Wichita.
A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor tells us police responded to the scene in the 1400 block of West Rita (near Rita and Elizabeth) a little after 1:30 p.m.
