Man critically injured after stabbing near downtown Wichita, police searching for suspect

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: A 48-year-old man is in extremely critical condition after being stabbed near downtown Wichita on Sunday afternoon.

The Wichita Police Department confirmed after a preliminary investigation that the victim was stabbed after a verbal argument with another man.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital with extremely critical injuries.

WPD said they are still searching for the suspect.

One person is in critical condition after a stabbing near downtown Wichita on Sunday afternoon.

Sedgwick County dispatch confirmed officers were sent to the area near Topeka and Pine at 4:18 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found one person with critical injuries from being stabbed. This person was transported to the hospital.
