Estes wins fifth term in U.S. House
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Republican Ron Estes earned another two-year term to serve Kansas’ Fourth Congressional District in the nation’s capital.
Estes defeated Democratic challenger Esau Freemen to continue serving south-central Kansas with Wichita at the district’s center.
Counties in the Fourth District include Barber, Butler, Chautauqua, Comanche, Cowley, Edwards, Elk, Greenwood, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Kiowa, Pratt, Sedgwick, Stafford, Sumner, and part of Pawnee counties.
In challenging Estes, a perceived strength for Freemen was his endorsement from the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE).
With the win, Estes retains the seat he first took in a 2017 special election.
