Funeral arrangements set for late Eisenhower softball coach

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Funeral arrangements have been set for the late Goddard Eisenhower High School teacher and softball coach, Amber Brunswig. The 47-year-old died last month from heart-related complications.

According to Brunswig’s obituary, she was an “amazing wife, mom, sister, daughter, teacher, coach, and mentor who left an indelible mark on her community.”

12 News spoke to the Eisenhower softball team and some of Brunswig’s co-workers while she was hospitalized. They said that although her life ended early, her legacy would last forever.

“It won’t be the same, those are really big shoes to fill,” said Kelsi Smith, Brunswig’s longtime assistant coach and friend.

Brunswig leaves behind her husband and three children, along with a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Pathway Church – Westlink Campus at 4:00 p.m.
