WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) — The Sedgwick County Election Office is calling for 200 to 250 additional election workers for the August primary. The primary is less than two months away.

The county needs more workers because 10 additional polling sites have been added this year. Three sites are also opening for two weeks of early voting.

“My plea is to Sedgwick County voters and students above the age of 16, please call our office and go to our website and click on the election worker tab and apply to be an election worker,” said Laura Rainwater, Sedgwick County election commissioner.

All training will be done at the new election office. It starts two weeks from Monday.

Because of the 10 additional voting sites, around 41,000 voters will have a new polling location. The election office is in the process of notifying those voters by mail.
