Suspect arrested in Russell County hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians Saturday
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Russell police arrested a suspect in a hit-and-run that injured two pedestrians early Saturday at the intersection of 5th Street and Copeland Street.
One of the two pedestrians was critically injured.
At approximately 2:01 a.m. Saturday, Russell County EMS, the Russell Police Department and a Russell County sheriff’s deputy were dispatched after a man was struck by a vehicle.
While units were enroute, they received information that a woman had also been struck.
EMS transported both pedestrians to a local hospital. One of the patients was later transferred by ambulance to a hospital in Wichita.
Investigators located the suspect’s vehicle in the 1400 block of N. Kansas Street and seized it as evidence.
Officers established probable cause to believe Seth Morse, 35, of Russell, was driving the truck that struck the pedestrians and left the scene.
Morse was arrested and booked into the Russell County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Battery, two counts of duty of driver to report injury crash and reckless driving.
The case will be forwarded to the Russell County attorney for formal charges. The incident remains under investigation.
