Cyberattack still impacting Wichita water bills, late fees paused
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The City of Wichita’s focus remains on recovery efforts following a multifaceted cyberattack confirmed on May 5.
Social security numbers, ID numbers and payment information were all potentially leaked when the City was cyber-attacked.
“Hopefully, we’ll have more forward updates for the community; we’ve mainly been getting some questions about water bills,” said Megan Lovely, communications manager for the City of Wichita.
The City of Wichita says it can’t share a timeline for when people can expect to see paper water bills. However, the City has paused all late fees due to cyber issues.
