WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A stray shower or thundershower may form along the I-135 corridor early Thursday, but chances are slim and won’t be around for very long. By afternoon, the chance will have faded and much of the state will be back to sunshine.

Expect much warmer air to return as well. Highs Thursday will be around 80 degrees and despite a cold front dipping into the area Friday, much of the state will still be reaching highs in the low 80s.

This weekend continues to look fairly windy. Gusts of 30 mph or stronger will be factor, but it’s a south wind and that should keep the region in the 80s.

A cold front arrives Sunday night, which will cool things down early next week and provide a chance for a few showers heading into Monday.
