Liberal commission takes no action on fireworks ban

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A ban on fireworks in Liberal is not moving forward.

The Liberal City Commission took no action on a resolution that would have banned fireworks this year.

The proposed ban was due to drought conditions creating a high risk of fire danger.

Liberal Fire Chief Kelly Kirk spoke during the commission meeting Tuesday night, saying the risk had been reduced because of recent rain.
