WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that storm chances are over for a few days as warmer weather takes hold for the start of the week.

It will be a mild start to the day on Monday with morning low temperatures in the 50s. Highs will reach the lower 80s Monday afternoon.

Even warmer temperatures are expected on Tuesday with sunshine and highs near 90 degrees.

A weak storm system could bring a return to isolated thunderstorms Thursday and Friday over portions of south central and southeast Kansas. Severe weather is not expected with this activity.

Attention will then turn to a drier and hotter weather pattern by late next weekend into next week when highs could return to the 90s for most of the state.
