4 p.m. KSCW Anchor/Factfinder 12 Investigator
Over the course of 14 years working as a journalist, Alex has developed a unique style of storytelling and garnered several awards for both broadcast and print journalism. He began his career as a photojournalist for an ABC station just a few blocks down the road from the University of Arkansas where he attended college.
As a photographer, he documented the struggle of families displaced by Hurricane Katrina, chased tornadoes across four states and caught the “news bug” that led him to eventually report and anchor for stations across the South and Midwest.
In 2018 he exposed security issues at public schools in St. Joseph, Mo, effecting positive changes in safety protocol in the district and won a 1st place award for investigative reporting from the Missouri Broadcasters Association for his coverage of the unsolved case of missing teenager Ashley Martinez.
You may not be able to tell it from his accent, but Alex is a southern boy – born and raised – and enjoys spending his time running trails or doing just about anything else that gets him out into nature with his stepdaughter and wife Heather.
